Trash on the Runway

A couple of weeks ago, Rubbish to Runway-Houston, held its 3rd annual fashion show at TBH Center. The theater was filled with art lovers and supporters. It's amazing to see how much creativity the designers put into their designs. Every model that walks down the runway is wearing trash. Well I should say trash turned into a work of art. It's literally so impressive how much time and dedication is put into creating one of these designs. Here are some of my favorite from this years R2R.

Big shout out to my amazing friend and Director of R2R, Yessenia Morales, for all the hard work she puts in to make this event a success.

All money raised at R2R goes directly to Long Way Home a nonprofit on a mission to use sustainable items to create schools in developing countries.

Also special Thank you to Veronica Rosales and Yvonne Guidry from for your support.

Why it’s important to keep my Mexican traditions alive

Today is the last day of Hispanic Hertitage month and to close off this celebration I wanted to share with you all why it is important for me to keep my Mexican traditions alive.

I consider myself to be very traditional, especially when it comes down to certain Mexican Catholic traditions. Such as El día de la virgencita de Guadalupe, Posadas, Día de los Reyes magos etc… I feel like my generation is so caught up with trends that typical Mexican traditions are getting lost.

I grew up learning to appreciate my mother tongue (Spanish) and accepting the small accent that I may have. As a child I always looked forward to summer vacations in Mexico where I had the freedom that I did not have in my home in the states. Those vacations kept me connected to reality. Being exposed to how different people live and how being poor in the U.S. Is true misery in other countries. Till this day I admire the way my parents raised me instilling in me to always remember my roots and to never look down on anyone.

When I visit Mexico and learn more about my culture I can not help but to fall in love with tradition and the beauty that Mexico holds. One day I want my children to feel the same pride I do when it comes down to my culture. I made a promise to myself a long time ago that no matter what, I would always strive to continue to keep my Mexican traditions alive. It’s important for me because it keeps me grounded and connected to who I am.

The CHI para Mi seminars have officially begun and the kick off was none other then the home of Farouk Systems, Houston!

The morning started with TV/radio interviews with Jomari. 150 local hairstylist also attended a private seminar where Jomari along with two of Farouk Systems hairstylist demonstrated the latest in hair trends and tips.

And guess what?! I got my hair cut by Jomari! I know, lucky me.

Jomari Goyso introduces CHI para Mi

I am so excited to share with you all the latest on what I’ve been working on with my current job. None other then the Jomari Goyso, CHI para Mi, campaign. Last month in Miami a launch party was held to make the big announcement.

For those of you that don’t know for whatever reason who Jomari is…well he is a hairstylist to the stars and currently TV host for some of Univision’s programming such as “Sal y Pimenta” and “Primer Impacto.”

So why is Jomari the perfect match for this campaign? Well because he understands women, he knows exactly what to say and do to make anyone’s confidence shine.

This campaign will include social media post, commercials and most importantly seminars around the top cities in the U.S. Where Jomari’s fans will be able to see him like never before, speaking about what beauty really is along with a meet and greet. The CEO of CHI, Mr. Farouk Shami, has also committed $100,000.00 in product donation to help organizations that are dedicated to helping shelters for women and children that have set with domestic violence. Jomari and Farouk are so passionate about helping women that this partnership was truly a perfect match. Can’t wait to share more on this campaign.

For more info on this campaign make sure to follow CHIenEspanol on all its social media.

I will leave you with some of the photos I took during the launch party last month at Epic Hotel in Miami.
