It has been 11 days since I came back from Disney World and I am still munchkin on all the candy we got at Mickey’s not so scary Halloween party. My friend, Jacque, and I literally booked our trip two weeks before Halloween (we had a YOLO moment) and were so excited we got to experience Halloween at Disney.
If you have seen any videos or photos on social media, then you know that Magic Kingdom is decked out in festive decor. Mickey’s not so scary Halloween party is a special ticketed event held at night with extended park hours. I loved seeing everyone in their Halloween costumes from grandparents to toddlers, really felt the Halloween spirit all around. The Magic Kingdom Castle lit up during the Hocus Pocus show and during the fireworks presentation there was also trick-or-treating all around the park and can’t forget the Halloween parade, which was my favorite part of the night, with all the villains and the famous headless horseman.
Here are some pictures from Halloween night:
The next day we bought a park hopper pass and went to Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. Last time I went to Orlando, Animal Kingdom was still in the works so it was a check off my bucket list. The first thing we did once arriving to Animal Kingdom was go to Pandora where we got to ride both of the Avatar rides. The Flight Avatar was literally insane! The special effects are on another level.
Sidenote: If you get motion sickness easily do not ride this. They do tell you in advance but I still stuck through it and was a little motion sick at the end. We then waited about an hour to ride the Na’vi River Journey which was my absolute favorite.
Jacque also mentioned that the Lion King show was a MUST and she wasn’t kidding. This was also a highlight of Animal Kingdom.
We then headed to Hollywood Studios which we both were excited to see the new Toy Story Land, it literally felt like we were in the movie. We were able to ride the Toy Story Mania, which is a carnival theme arcade. It was so much fun!
On our last day we went to Disney Springs for lunch and did a little shopping we also stopped by Amorette’s and had some cute deserts. One thing I recommend is staying at one of the Disney resorts. The FREE transportation comes in handy. Jacque and I did not spend on any transportation from and to the airport as well as to any of the parks. The hotel we stayed at was The Disney All-Star Music Resort. We really can’t complain about the resort, our rooms were clean and the food all around was delish!
