The Best of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Visiting Puerto Vallarta was always on my bucket list especially because this was my abuelito’s favorite  beach and he was not kidding! The scenery in Puerto Vallarta is gorgeous, with the green mountains on the side and the pure ocean view along its coast.

During my visit to Puerto Vallarta, my brother and I stayed at Vela’s Hotel. The staff was attentive and the food was delicious. Plus, the hotel is beautiful.

We decided to be adventurous and booked an ATV excursion on the mountains of Puerto Vallarta. I am not going to lie, I was so nervous. I feel like I use to be more careless when I was younger, has this happen to you? I now think about things more then before. Anyways, I don’t recommend this if you have never driven an ATV before. I should’ve taken my advice lol, This was my first time driving one and although nothing happened to us there were several times I thought I was going to fall off the cliff.  Overall, it was an amazing experience. Definitely for adrenaline junkies!

This is the company we used to book our ATV excursion: Canopy River Zip Line

The nightlife in Puerto Vallarta is so worth it. On the first night my brother and I ended up at La Vaquita and made a few friends. We even got to party with rapper E40! I am not going to get into detail but that night was one I will never forget! Y’all should probably ask my brother LOL.

The second night my friends Sandra and Jennie came in and we went to Mandala. Both, La Vaquita and Mandala are chain clubs that have several throughout Mexico so they are pretty well known for tourist. There are other clubs we wanted to check out but due to timing we didn’t.

During the day, There is so many things to do in Puerto Vallarta such as taking a walk down El Malecon and visiting the little shops around the plaza. You can also visit the breathtaking, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church located by El Malecon.

Looking for places to eat? Here are two I recommend.

Casa Traditional Restaurant

Casa Tradicional is decorated with bright colors and typical Mexican decor. The staff is attentive and the food was fresh and delicious.

El Barracuda

We absolutely loved, El Barracuda, they have tables right next to the beach where you can enjoy the scenery and do some water activities after or before your meal. The food was fresh and the ambiance was laid back.

If you are looking to rent a car, I recommend sixt, they were reliable and friendly. When in Mexico you have to make sure you rent a car from a reliable company. A lot of people make the mistake to go with companies that are known in the U.S. but don’t know that sometimes you can get screwed over. To make the long story short, I did my research and Sixt was the most reliable company in Mexico. Plus, the rental price for our car was reasonable.

Have any questions? Make sure to leave them below and I will be happy to answer.

Until next time,
