Months ago I discovered Costa Careyes, Mexico on social media and fell in love with the small town located 105 miles south of Puerto Vallarta. There was definitely no other place I wanted to celebrate life then with my brother, friends and the beautiful scenery of Careyes.
Costa Careyes was established by an Italian financier named, Gian Franco Brignone, in 1968. Careyes is known to be a private estate with beautiful colorful homes. There are about 100 homes to be exact and no hotels. Careyes, was everything I could imagine and more! The architecture is elegant with a little Mexico meets Santorini vibes. There were about 100+ stairs from the main parking lot to our beautiful home. The only word to describe our home, Casa Blanca, and its scenery is breathtaking!
We were greeted by our onsite house staff, Marilu and Rosita. Which let me just say that Rosita’s home cooked meals were everything!!
We spent our days mostly by the pool, enjoying the sunrise and sunsets. Our home also had a private access to the beach where we were able to find gorgeous sea shells and colorful stones.
The stars at night looked reachable and the sounds of waves put up to sleep. We meditated, talked and even played some board games. There is no shopping or nightlife around but that is exactly what makes Careyes so special. We spend so much time on the go that just being able to sit and look at the ocean was all we wanted.
We also took a short trip down the road to Copa Del Sol, which is located on the edge of a cliff.
The night before leaving Careyes we decided to release a couple of turtles that were born that week. It was one of the highlights of our trip. The community in Careyes has actually dedicated its resources to save turtles. There are certain turtles that are at risk of extinction so they do ask for a $25 donation that goes to support their efforts.
Costa Careyes stole our heart forever!
